Nestled into a thicket of trees, this family retreat sits overlooking a gorgeous lake in the desirable community of the Preserve at Lake Keowee, SC. Designed for a busy family of five who make their main residence in South Florida, HW Interiors was brought in early in construction and were tasked with providing a sanctuary from the chaos of work, school, and the crazy schedules we all adhere to these days.
The home is large, with four en suite bedrooms and a sizable bunk room- perfect for getaways with friends and family in tow. The homeowners wanted a bit of rustic, a bit of industrial, but also a little bit sexy. We also wanted to incorporate that HW Interiors earthy, organic modern feel as well.
The design presents a unique blend of modern minimalism and richness. The contrast between the rich, dark tones and the natural light highlights the architectural features, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to contemporary design. The use of premium materials like charred black oak cabinetry in the kitchen with gorgeous quartzite countertops and earthy Zellige tiles complemented by woven light fixtures.
The project shows a glimpse of our aesthetic- one that communicates new, fresh and edgy while also being comfortable and cozy. Truly an elevated approach to life on the lake for this lovely family.
